Hello

Collected 08/09/2011 by clovis, Jelsa Croatia.
Small Tabanus, 12 mm
I think Tabanus shannonellus. Can confirm this identification?

Hello Christoophe. It seems to fit with the description of shannonellus (pale scutellum contrasting with mesonotum, large median triangles on tergites 3-5), so I think your id is correct.

Thank you Sergiy and Libor for your opinion. Compared with the other Tabanus that I collected, this one is really small. Its area of distribution is small also.

Of course, small area. I have two specimens from the Brac island...
