Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Tachinidae, similar to Eriothrix -> Thelaira sp.

It is similar to Eriothrix rufomaculatus but I think it's something else (R5 rather open). Maybe another species of this genus... I have only this photo and it is not enough to work with key for me. Please, help.

Looks a lot like
Thelaira sp., with its hemispherical head and gangly legs. Try
Thelaira solivaga if you don't get confirmation from the experts :)

Yeah,
Thelaira certainly - but I'd have to see the mid tibia a bit more clearly to guess which species :)

Thanks a lot. Mid tibia in better resolution (I see 3 ad) - is that enough? Th. solivaga seems good id.

I am tempted to say nigripes (it is usually the commonest) ... but they are quite a difficult genus because there the features overlap between species ;)
