Hello,
does this midge belong to the genus Chironomus? The size was ~10mm. Thanks, Marion
The photo was taken today in Germany, Saxony.

Not certain, but could be a
Glyptotendipes female

If you have a shot from more in front showing the front of the thorax (pronotum) and top of head a more confident ID may be possible.

Chironomus is more likely.
