Thread subject: Diptera.info :: A 2012 Bulgarian Tabanus sp 1

As I often find on my visits to Bulgaria horseflies form a conspicuous component of the Dipterans encountered and this was again the case on my most recent tour when I photographed three different Tabanus collections, I think three different species. I have the specimens of all of these but here is the first as photographed on 5 Aug 2012 found beside ta fishpond near Bansko. I would be grateful if anyone is able to suggest an identification for the species.

Many thanks

Alan

Even in Bulgaria, T. bromius is the most common Tabanus
