Is it possible to tell which genus this 4 mm female is?
Photos from 2 september 2012 Norasundet 62, E 17 Ångermanland, Sweden.

Chironomini. Probably one of the genera near
Chironomus. Should be identifiable to genus by unusual color pattern if not by structural characters. Do you have a picture from more in front showing the shape of the middle of the pronotum?
