Taken in the outskirts of San Sebastian, N Spain on July the 29th. On
Daucus carota. I think it might be Aplomya confinis. Confirmation or correct ID will be most welcome ;)

That's an excellent identification - that was my first guess too :) They usually look like a
Phryxe (hairy eyes, orange scutellum with raised, crossed apicals) but they do not have median dorsals on the tergites. This looks male because it has the glossy tergite 5, which is much shorter than tergite 4 :)

Thank you sooooo much, Chris!! :) Not only for the confirmation but also for all the other information |t It was the length of T5 what made me suspect of
Aplomya confinis but I didn't know about the median dorsals on tergites. That is great information for me :) :)
