Is it possible to tell something from this photo? Photographed in Bodø, northern Norway. Date: 09.07.2012.
Size is maybe 15-20 mm.

Hybomitra micans or auripila. I cannot give you exact ID, I have only few experiances with males.

Interesting one.
I'd say it is aterrima.
Auripilia is nowadays included in aterrima.
This seems to be some inbetween specimen.

So auripila is synonymous to aterrima? The females of H. auripila is very common in the area (I've had a few females identified from photos earlier on a Norwegian forum).
I see the males I've photographed quite often in Bodø, but never managed to capture one.
