Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Laboulbeniales on hoverfly ?

Not sure what forum to put this in but the picture in this post http://photographyatnewenglandmoments.com/index.php?topic=35579.0
on another forum looked a bit like Laboulbeniales fungus to me if a bit larger than I have seen on fruit flies or is it just pollen anthers ?

It probably visited some kind of orchid and took the pollenia with it.

They are pollenia (that's the deciduous male reproductive structures of certain flowers, not the golden-haired calliphorid).
