Hi,
A fortnight ago I was in an old beech forest in Southern Brandenburg. On a dead trunk hidden in the thicket there were many big bracket fungi, and they were covered with Drosophilids that seemed to be very busy. Do they belong to genus Drosophila, and can be said more about these fungus fans?
Many thanks, Sundew

Really no chance for fungus-associated Drosophilids?

It *might* be Drosophila kuntzei but I'd need specimens to confirm that. The species is a 'general mushroo feeder', just like a number of others.
