Hi,
These days yellow flowers (Potentilla erecta, Ranunculus) are attracting lots of small dark Empidids. I am afraid the photos will not show enough details for ID. However, I suppose that all belong to genus Empis - am I right? May be, there are different species in the party. Some females have slightly feathery legs (but not as pronounced as in E. pennipes), some obviously do not show this character, and the males look quite uniform. Are there many species to be expected? These meetings are eye-catching.
Thanks for information, Sundew
