This was an amusing scene to watch. Marsh Fly (
Sepedon cf.
fuscipennis) "kisses" ladybug (
Coleomegilla maculata). Later it stepped on the beetle.
I'm reminded of the old tale "belling the cat." Ladybugs (lady beetles, ladybird beetles) are famed predators of other insects.
