Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Stratiomyidae, Brazil, entire head is glossy yellow

In a hotel garden, in the small city of Novo Airao, 180 km west of Manaus, Amazonas province, Brazil.

Did not get a measurement, unfortunately, but this was not an especially small fly. It was very active, quickly investigating leaves and stems of various plants.

Probably a Cyphomyia sp. but a clearer shot of the wings would be helpful.
