On May 19, 2012 I saw several Muscidae in the boreal forest of New Hampshire, USA (elevation 800-1300 meters). They appeared to be the same species. One was sucking on a dead insect. Another was licking sweat off my backpack strap.
Hairy eyes, hairy arista, 0+1 acrostichals, 2+4 dorsocentrals (one is missing a dorsocentral on the right), darkened crossveins.
