Hi Brian,
It belongs to the family Sphaeroceridae. Unfortunately I know very little about this family, but maybe one of the others is able to give a genus or even species name.

You are lucky: The tip of the fore metatarsus and the whole second tarsomere are whitish. Characteristic of
Sphaerocera monilis. Recorded in the UK from Kent, Middx, Essex, Herts, Berks, (Oxon), Cornwall, Somerset, Dorset, (Hants), Glos, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambs, Hereford, (Dumfries), Dunbarton, Argyll and Ross & Cromarty, virtually throughout the year but few in numbers.
