Thread subject: Diptera.info :: A most interesting fly from the mountains of West Virginia, USA

I don't remember finding a fly that looked like this one before. I would love to know the family.

3 May 2012, Arden (Barbour County), West Virginia USA, mountain forest alongside a fast-flowing river. The fly was walking on a rotting log that was very wet.

It was small, possibly 4 mm, but that is a rough estimate.
