Is the name of this Empididae fly possible...?
Small fly of maybe 6 mm.
Found 11-4-2012 in Zeist, Holland

Odd one. The forked R4+5 and swollen fore basitarsus suggest
Hilara, but the small, thin, forward-projecting proboscis and arched thorax suggest Hybotidae, which never have R4+5 forked.

It actually has a thick backwards projecting proboscis (i think it's the palpi you see). The R4+5 fork is obtuse which points to Empis rather than Hilaria, but the swollen fore basitarsus points to Hilaria. I can't see metapleural bristels and if the costa go around the wing, but I think it's an Empis chioptera.

Although I agree with Empis chioptera...

Indeed, Empis chioptera. Also a very early specimen! Yesterday I caught Empis (Xanthempis) trigramma and E. (Empis) nigripes, also very, very early flies.

Thank you for your reaction Ruud!!
Today is no fly day and I catched a cold from yesterday, so I have to wait a little to find other Empis...

Actually I hoped to go out for collecting in Marienwaerdt, but it is indeed too cold. Practically no sunshine. Anyway, I had quite a good run today, so enjoyed some fresh air.
