Taken in the outskirts of Madrid on the 25th March 2012. Feeding on Euphorbia. Thanks in advance for any help :)

Looks very interesting (hairy eyes, strong facial ridge bristles but not looking like
Pales etc.) but I would need a specimen :)

I was thinking about
Aplomyia confinis, that I saw in the same place last year at the beginning of April. It was Theo's ID. Looks very similar but I don't know the real ID features of that species :@ :(

After checking some details with Peter Tschorsnig I am satisfied that this is
Chetogena mageritensis, a fairly rare species that seems to be restricted to Central/Southern Spain (Mesnil mentions Morocco too). It can be locally common in early Spring if you are lucky enough to stumble upon a colony :)
