Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Pollenia?

Massachusetts, USA March 20, 2012. We have an early spring (20-25C this week, vs. 5-10 normal for mid-March).

It looks like a bare Pollenia but the stripes on the thorax are unusual.

Very few curly hairs visible bit I think I can still discern some, so I'd say yes.
