A fly that was about to land in a near tree branch of Pinus pinaster. This is the first time I saw Tachina ursina. Never spotted it in Viseu. Check here for better resolution: farm8.staticflickr.com/7066/6989730465_2b5432ef3e_b.jpg

Cool photo - nicely done :)

I just got back from Sorrento and found some tachinids (Peleteria sp. & Kirbya (possibly)) but no T.ursina. :)

this is really the first record for Viseu afaik. I wonder about Tachina lurida... never saw it.
