Hi

Anyone who can help identify this one?
I do not have any identification keys or other literature, so I need some help.
Length of wing 8 mm and bodylength is less than 7 mm, including ovipositor.
In Norway there are 6 (?) species in this genera.

I would say ovipositor reminds me of Trichocera hiemalis, but it is hard to be sure based on the picture.
There are at least 15 species of Trichocera known in Norway according to Hagvar & Krzeminska, 2007. Contribution to the winter phenology of Trichoceridae (Diptera) in snow-covered southern Norway. Studia Dipterologica 14 (2): 271-283

Hi Andrius

Thanks a lot for answering :)
15 species of Trichocera in Norway are a lot more than I knew :|

Since yesterday I found some minor keys about Trichoceridae (Alan Stubbs, 2002)
I have studied my photo and "gnat", and I can see the shape is quite similar to the T. hiemalis fig in Stubbs key.

Hi,
there are also published records of T. lutea and T.borealis from Norway, so you have a list of at least 17 species. Several more species should also be there as they are found in Sweden: T. forcipula, T.gigantea, T.mackenzie, T.inexplorata etc.
