Bosham, West sussex.

In an ex-hedgerow seperating a wheatfield and a saltmarsh.

11 August 2011.

Smallish... at most 6-8mm (it was a long time ago and I'm not really sure).

I think Tephritidae looks right, so it's probably something else.

Might be Opomyzidae.

The narrow wing base says it's a Geomyza.
G. tripunctata is a common species with right wing pattern.
