Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Rhinophoridae?

The specimen has the subscutellum swollen, the posterior spiracle with hairs and bristles on the gena, but r4+5 is not petiolate.
Any suggestions?

Are you absolutely sure that you have identified the subscutellum correctly? :)

This is Sphenometopa spec (Sarcophagidae, Miltogramminae).
I think this is S. fastuosa but I would need better pictures or a look at the specimen.

Liekele, the specimen is undoubtedly Sphenometopa fastuosa, thanks for your help :D
Chris was right, a more thorough review of subscutellum was key to solving the mystery. By the way Chris, I liked your site, very useful for working Tachinidae.
