Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Anthomyiidae Lasiomma? male

Hi,

I started at the beginning of the keys, got genus Lasiomma and ended up with a possible Lasiomma latipenne. I may have gone completely wrong! :D

12th April 2011, my garden near Lincoln UK.

I don't see an av seta on the midtibia.
So probable another Pegoplata species.
But i think, you have to collect those flies.
Pegoplata is very difficult to ID, only from photos

I thought the one visible in the first photo might have been an av, maybe not.

The calypters have long pale hairs, the halter knob looks hairy too. Does that give a clue?
