I am completely lost with this one. Sitting on a bench in a garden in the outskirts of Madrid on the 12th February 2012. Thanks in advance for any help! ;)

Indeed Anthomyiidae
Could be the female of Lasiomma anthomyinum you already found earlier.
But the females of Lasiomma are difficult to separate from photos,so no 100 % guarantee.

Thanks a lot, Jorge and Joke! |t The interesting thing is that males of an Anthomyid that looks like Lasiomma anthomyinum were sitting also on the same bench. It makes sense that this is the female of that species.

And might be also interesting to mention that the olive tree with the Lasiomma and this bench were only 20 metres apart from each other ;) and all these flies were photographed in the same day between 1 pm and 3 pm.

I know this is another specimen, but I am adding this picture of a male because this Anthomyid was near the female in this thread. I think it can be Lasiomma, but confirmation will be most welcome.
