Hello

In May last year I found, and catched, two horse flies.
I have tried to find what species this is.
The first horse fly I think can be Hybomitra bimaculata
I will load three pics here so it will be easier to study the horse fly

Is there anyone who can help?

I'm not sure on this fly.
It looks different than the first one.
It has more hair on body. The yellow patterns on the side of tergit one,two and three are hidden under the wings.

Here is pic no.1

Please, add enlarged pictures No. 2 and 3 of both specimens. From pics 2 I need to see structure of lower callus and the close part of subcallus. From pics 3 just antennae and palpi. I thing both specimens should be Hyb. nitidifrons confiformis. Did you got them in early spring?

See small brownish-shinning areas under lower callus - an uniqie feature for European specimens of Hybomitra nitidifrons confiformis. Also your date of trapping agrees. This species is a really spring species.
BTW: thanks for precisely photographed needed details. It is easier to try to get ID!
