Found 12-6-2011 in Zeist, Holland

Are Thelaira and Halidaya the only tachinids with semi-hemispherical heads (for palearctic zone)?

Difficult to answer - it depends on which criteria you use. Carcelia are quite similar, or any genus with large eyes. Hemyda have very distinctive eyes that are big and kidney-shaped in lateral profile. Gonia are very rounded too :)
