I met this handsome muscidae in the local nature reserve of Gent, Belgium on 15th May 2009.

Not Anthomyia, but close : Eustalomyia hilaris.

That's even better than Anthomyia Stephane, at least it can be given a species name! I thought the head shape and black mark on the middle of the thorax looked odd!
