Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Chloropidae Chlorops pumilionis?

Hello,

I think this is correct? Size was ~5mm. On Ivy, near Lincoln UK, there's plenty of the grass Agropyron repens it develops in near where it was sat but often there are winter and spring grain crops nearby too. 29th September 2011

Dear Janet, by picture is difficult to say anything, and unfortunately I can't say surely; according your first pic, I just can say that's looks like this species, also 2nd pic is almost similar, but I think all of pics are not same sample and have difference between them, special about 3rd pics that is very different to 2 others. Again so sorry I couldn't help you! :( :|

By the description in the keys it does fit though Sara.. all three photos are of the same fly.

You're both right! I had taken it 5 minutes later but both on Ivy! :o
