I've been confused over the identification of this calliphorid. I believe it is Stomorhina discolor. Could some one confirm please?

Yes, I think you're very close, it's looks more or less like our Stomorrhina in Europe. At least it is Calliphoridae, subfamily Rhiinae..

Ahh, yes, but that is MY fault, because yoiu wrote it correctly, it should be Stomorhina...:o:o
