Hello Forum,
what about this midge? Is it a Tipulidae? Closer ID possible? Hagen, NRW, Germany, attracted to light, October 30th 2011, near beech forest, 150-200msm

Tipulidae sensu lato. The short palps put it in one of the other families of crane flies if you follow the European classification (e.g. Oosterbroek).

Hello John,
considering the key of Chen W. Young. 2005, the short palps belong to the Limoniidae. Correct? Any further possibilities?

Yes Limoniidae (but short palls could belong to Trichoceridae and cylindrotomidae too)
It look like Limonia nebeculosa to me.
