Hello,

this fly is from last april from the interior Sicily. According to the Fauna Europaea there is only one Limnia species on Sicily - unguicornis. Is it this species? Or is there something I didn't see which speaks against it?

Thanks,
Michael

Hello Michael,

it is not a Limnia, but seen for me like Ilione. Excluding I. albiseta, to be left after FE only I. trifaria and I. unipunctata.
Then it becomes difficult.

Hello Frank,

thank you for the correction. Do you know the difference between Ilione trifaria and I. unipunctata. Or is it hopeless to try to distinguish them with a photo?
