Male with wide frons.
Hind tibia 3 ad, 3 pd, 1 a
Mid tibia 2 ad, 2 pd, 1 v
Front tibia 2 d, 1 p
all plus subapicals.
Legs yellow, front femur darkened dorsally
Dorsocentrals 2 pre-, 3 post sutural

Scathophagidae - note pale hairs on fore coxae. There are no British anthos with wing crossveins infuscated and male eyes dichoptic.

Don't feel too bad about it! You have exonerated yourself by including a photo of the exserted male genitalia, otherwise I might not have based my family ID on the pale hairs. There are no British Anthomyiidae with genitalia like the photo.
