Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Dolichopodidae Microphor female?

Hello,

If it was not for the antennae on this tiny female I would have been thinking Sciaridae! I marked it as ~2.5mm, it was eating a very small thrips I think.

Apart from the antennae it looks much like the male Microphor crassipes I have had, which I got again this year. Maybe the female has different shaped antennae, or is it another species?

23rd August, my garden near Lincoln UK.

Crossopalpus or Drapetis, cannot really tell for certain from these pictures.

Thanks Paul, not a regular one!

Are those bends in the wings vein near the tip more likely to make it Crossopalpus?
