Photo taken in woodland in Reading, UK, on 2010-07-30. Any idea of its species?

Of course, now I see it. There are even some small patches of orange on the scutellum.

At the time I took the photos I should also have noticed the size (valida are normally larger than other Phaonia species) but it was over a year ago and I don't remember.

Male valida seem to be rarer than females: I have photos of several females in my collection but only this one male.

The scutellum isn't very yellow for a male P. valida...
