Hi,

I'm trying to learn to ID insects so this could be a total miss from my part. If it's not a Chironomus sp., could it be from the Chaoboridae family?
What else could it be?
Anyone knows the specific species?

Photo was taken at midnight, outside, on the house wall end of August in southern Sweden. Nearby is a large lake and the house is surrounded by a forest with all kinds of tree species typical for the region.

Thanks !

It is Chironomidae, Chironominae tribe Chironomini, but most likely not a Chironomus sp.
