I was a little surprised now to see a copulation (temperature 7C in air, night frost ). The courting couple was found on 2011-10-23 sitting on a oak leaf at the edge of a meadow near Marburg, Hesse, Germany.

Sara, thanks. I thought so too. For me it looks like a Scathophaga species.
