Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Tide mark fly

Can anyone advise on ID for this one. Observed in Parc national du Bic (Quebec, Gaspesie) on June 8th. Approx 8 mm. Clearly abundant on the tide mark algae on the beach.

Looks more like Coelopa to me. The first tarsomere of the hind leg is longer and no thicker than the second, which is very unusual in Sphaeroceridae.

Sorry, I only had a quick look at the wing venation and general appearance and that was consistent enough with Copromyzinae... :S
