Can any one suggest a family?

Hybotidae: Tachydromiinae.
Platypalpus-ish, but I am not familiar with all Australian genera in the subfamily.

Thanks Paul. Looking at my catalogue I had requested an ID for a similar fly and the genera was Elaphopeza sp.

That's possible although the postpronotal lobes (humeri) appear to be developed in this specimen and that should not be the case in the Drapetini, where
elaphropeza belongs. Perhaps a trick of the light, though.

The postpronotal lobes are evident under the microscope in this specimen.
FYI here is the other fly that looks similar.
