Hi, Flies lovers! :)
Here I have a beauty that I was told is a Therevidae, and even it could be a
Thereva.
Any ideas abaut its identity? ;) Any help much appreciated.
Taken in Faro de Peñas, N Spain, on July the 30th this year. It was on a wooden rail by sea cliffs.
Cheers

Marian,
This beauty resembles Acrosathe annulata, but let us wait for the specialists. ;)

Hi there, Andre!!! :)
What a surprise finding you in DI, I didn't know you were here too. ;) I should have guessed, LOL!
Sorry to be so late replying, lately my real life doesn't allow me to spend time in these matters, sniff...
And thank you for your contribution... but it seems the specialists have not seen it. :-( Or maybe it's too difficult to confirm?
Oh, well, patience is a virtue... ;) I'll keep waiting, LOL!
Cheers

I believe it is a species of Thereva, but no idea which one. Acrosathe and Thereva look very similar. Very nice images by the way.
