I think this is a Chorisops sp but am unsure whether it is C. tibialis or nagatomii.

Photographed in Reading, UK, on 2011-09-15.

On further reflection, I am leaning towards C. nagatomii. The yellow markings on the abdomen are bright and extensive. Also, the following pages from the Essex Field Club site suggest that, in the south of England, tibialis should be essentially gone by the end of August, whereas nagatomii can still be around in mid-September:
