Hello

Last month I photographed this big unknown diptera in the middle of Germany (Rhön).

Who can help? Syrphidae?

10.August - Germany - Rhön - ca 400m over Sealevel

I thought Oestridae adults didn't feed due to their lack of a mouth to feed with. Why is it on a flower?

:D following the "Guide des mouches et des moustiques" it´s the fastest family in Diptera, 40Km/h, lucky of you, you found it having a rest ;)
