Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Chyromyidae Chyromya sp? (was Psilidae?)

Hi,

I only got one shot of this, it was small maybe 3-4mm. 4th July, my garden near Lincoln UK.

My impression is Chyromyidae, Chyromya sp.

That is interesting Stephane, we don't appear to have that family listed!

Is there any way it can be said for certain? I just searched the site and found the ocelli are surrounded by a dark plate, which this has!

I found a Gymnochiromyia sp. which looks very similar...

It appears that Gymnochiromyia has only 4 bristles on the scutellum, mine looks to have more. It does look to have anterior incurved orbital bristles though.
