I know this is a very tricky genus, but can anyone say if this fly with an orange tip to its abdomen is likely to be S. africa ?
It was common on Samos where this photo was taken, sometimes on animal faeces (photos available, but not very attractive!).
20.8.11 c14mm Samos, Greece.
