This hoverfly species was another of the flies photographed by Sally Hammond on the recent Naturetrek Bulgaria tour that I co-led. I believe it to be a Sphaerophoria species (male). Although I doubt the species can be identified from a single image I thought I would give it a try in case it is a sufficiently distinctive one for a specialist in this family to recognise.
