Thread subject: Diptera.info :: small dark Tachinid

Hi,
I really hope this is a Tachinid and not a small Sarcophagid! (The old problem never ends...) I saw several of these flies in Southern Brandenburg in July and would be eager to know their name.

This one is from another town of the same day. I think it's the same species, as it has this basally thickened arista, too.

Yes, agreed - lots of these flying here at the moment. Picked up 3 M.mutabilis males from 2 different sites on Monday.

Fine - no sarco! I was afraid I had made a fool of myself once again in confusing tachies and sarcos. However, I seem to develop a certain intuition :D. Many thanks!
