Can the species be identifiable?

On 12th August 2011, in a relict acid pond surrounded by Pinus uncinata forest. Aran Valley, middle-eastern Pyrenees.

I know that usually Empis are impossible but maybe by this very special habitat is possible to ID it...? And it's collected, so maybe with the specimen is possible to get the name. I don't have none Empididae identified!

Thanks

There is little known about the Mediterranean Empis species, neither taxonomically, nor ecologically, so habitat is hardly a give away for the species. The impression it gives is of a Empis (Pachymeria) but I cannot be certain without the specimen. Even with the specimen a species ID is not yet guaranteed.

Thanks Paul. This is far from Mediterranean, it's alpine or boreal. I hope that Jorge can tell me something with the collected specimen!

I'll send the specimen for ID as I do not have interest in Empidoidea, in general.
