17 July 2011, rich forest near a very small stream, elevation 300 meters. West Virginia USA.

Interesting abdomen, eyes almost purple.

Can anyone tell me what family?

Has wing venation of Allognosta. Maybe Allognosta fuscitarsis. Type specimen photo at Harvard MCZ (insects.oeb.harvard.edu) from New York.
Synonyms: Metoponia similis, Beris fuscitarsis.
Brief description in Journal of Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia Vol 3, 1823 under Beris fuscitarsis. But, I'm not an expert.

Cheers,
