Hello!

Sapromyz(oso)ma? About 4 mm, at a hedge (northwest Germany).

Thanks, Paul! I had hoped, the spots qualify it for a special species (mostly I find them without spots), but that seems not the case...

As it has 6 spots some will say it's sexpunctata. but it could also be opaca. The lustre of the thorax could point to sexpunctata or that could be the flash making in look more glossy than it really is.

Counting spots on Sapromyza should be used a guide only.

Comparing it with S. sexpunctata in the gallery I saw that one pair of spots seemed to be bigger in that species, so I thought it must be some other.

Thanks. I doen't have a key for that family/genus and did not know if there were several similar spotted species.
