UK, Suffolk, coastal estuary, on
Heracleum. 15th July 2011.
This keys nicely to
Compsilura concinnata. Note the strong facial ridge bristles, ocellars missing and orange palps.

Very likely - if it keys that well then it should be :) Pity it isn't a female, with the saw-toothed ventral tergite edges - they really can be spectacular :)

Yes, if the weather ever dries out here, I'll go back to look for a female:)
