Found this one 4 days ago while out photographing birds (as you do)! Took me 3 days to get a proper photo of it (or at least the same type) from a patch of Tormentil by a beach about a mile from my house.
No Chloropids previously recorded in Shetland other than Chlorops sp by me a couple of years ago. Any chance of a species name for this?? Size under 2mm.

Thanks Sara..I did check those before posting, I wasn't too sure these could be determined without rummaging through their genitalia. ;)

I have exactly like this sample in my collection, and I am sure about that, cause it had confirmed already by one of experts of Chloropidae...! ;) B)

Shouldn't
cereris have a white arista like
this one?
Actually, thinking about it, I'm not so sure that is
C.cereris either.
